Deepak Malhotra denies involvement in gold smuggling case



KATHMANDU: Deepak Malhotra has denied any involvement in the gold smuggling incident that took place at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Wednesday.

At a press conference held on Thursday, Malhotra refuted his association with the case, where one quintal of gold was seized by the Department of Customs at the TIA on Wednesday.

Emphasizing that his business, as well as his family, operates in full compliance with the laws of Nepal, he asserted that he played no role in the gold that successfully passed through customs clearance at the airport.

Furthermore, Malhotra made it clear that he has no connections or familiarity with any individuals mentioned in the media reports.

He expressed his objections to the news circulating about him, stating that it seems to be a deliberate attempt to harm his professional reputation.
