Three including Province Law Minister Singh die in Bajhang road accident



DADELDHURA: Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Sudurpaschim Province, Prithvi Bahadur Singh,  died in a road accident on Tuesday.

Minister Singh succumbed to the injuries he suffered in the road accident that took place in Dharchada of Kedarsyun Rural Municipality of Bajhang earlier today. He died while undergoing treatment at Kohalpur Medical College in Banke this afternoon, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Kohalpur, Sundar Tiwari said.

Likewise, Amrita Singh,50, the spouse of Minister Singh and sister-in-law Jayadevi Singh, 60, also died in the fatal incident involving a jeep (Su.pra. 1001 Jha 48) that fell into the Kalanga River at about 50 meters below the road on the way from Dadeldhura to Bajhang Headquarters Chainpur.

Amrita and Jayadevi died on the way to the hospital. Along with Minister Singh, jeep driver Dharmaraj Joshi and assistant constable Deepak Bhandari were airlifted to Nepalgunj for treatment. Joshi and Bhandari’s condition is reported to be moderate.
