Rain expected in several parts of country today

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has forecast the possibility of rain and snowfall in various parts of the country today (Saturday).

According to the bulletin issued by the Division this morning, the weather is currently generally cloudy across the country, with light to moderate rainfall occurring at a few places in Koshi Province.

The Division has forecast generally cloudy weather across the country this afternoon. Moderate to heavy rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at some places in the Himalayan region. Similarly, moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning is expected at many places in the hilly region and at some places in the Terai.

There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces and in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country tonight as well. Moderate to heavy rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning is likely at some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Moderate to heavy rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning is also likely at some places in the Terai areas of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at a few places in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has further forecast heavy rainfall at one or two places in the mountainous and Terai areas of Koshi Province.
