Besisahar-Chame road to remain closed throughout today

LAMJUNG: The Besisahar-Chame road connecting Lamjung and Manang will remain completely closed from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm today to facilitate road-slope construction work at Dharapani in Naso Rural Municipality-3, Manang.

According to Manang Chief District Officer Mukti Prasad Khanal, the 135 MW Manang Marsyangdi Hydropower Project will carry out construction work on a road slope measuring approximately 50 meters in length in the Dharapani area.

He said the road would have to be fully closed because it is narrow and houses are located on both sides, making it impossible to arrange an alternative route for vehicles during the construction work.

No vehicles will be allowed to operate along the road from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm today. Khanal said heavy vehicles would also be prohibited from operating from 5:00 pm today until 10:00 am tomorrow.
