NC leader Sharma advises against undue concern regarding elections

BAGLUNG: General Secretary of Nepali Congress (NC), Bishwa Prakash Sharma has advised against undue concern regarding the elections slated for four years from now.

Sharma stressed the importance of diverting attention from electoral worries and instead urged the formulation of a comprehensive development blueprint achievable by 2095.

He stated, “Rather than rebuilding homes post-Nepal earthquake, we need a strategy to prevent houses from collapsing. While immediate implementation might be challenging, let’s draft a plan to propel Nepal to a more resilient state within the next 15 years.”

Addressing a program in Baglung today, Sharma emphasized that the forthcoming Mahasamiti meeting, commencing on February 19, would critically examine the current government’s performance.

Expressing concern over the deceleration of government initiatives, Sharma, acknowledging the Nepali Congress’s role within the government, remarked, “A thorough evaluation of the NC ministers’ contributions in the government will be undertaken. If the pace of government work doesn’t accelerate by next February, a comprehensive review will become imperative.”

He asserted that all political parties should collectively prioritize the nation’s prosperity, relegating election concerns to the background.

As Chief Minister Sharma underlined the necessity of this forward-looking perspective, he invited stakeholders to concentrate on building a resilient and prosperous Nepal without being overshadowed by electoral timelines.
