Police not to submit report on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The police have announced a delay in submitting the report regarding the Fake Bhutanese refugee case as additional time is required to complete the report even for the statement of former Nepali Congress lawmaker Angtawa Sherpa.

SP Sitarama Rijal, the Superintendent of Police (SP), Spokesperson for the District Police Range Kathmandu, stated that the report cannot be submitted today (Wednesday) as preparations are still underway. Consequently, the deadline for the 14 accused individuals who were arrested will be extended today.

The police have assured that the report, which could not be submitted today, will be submitted promptly.

So far, the police have arrested several individuals in connection with the fake refugee case.
The arrested individuals include former Deputy Prime Minister and CPN-UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, former Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, Former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa’s Security Advisor Indrajit Rai, Sandeep Rayamajhi (Top Bahadur’s son), Sanu Bhandari, Keshav Dulal, Sandesh Sharma, Sagar Rai, Kumar Gurung, Ram Sharan KC, Gobind Chaudhary, and Narendra KC, the private secretary of Balkrishna Khan. They are currently in police custody.
