MAHENDRANAGAR: In a remarkable display of artistic devotion, a colossal statue of Sita-Ram has been created using 102 quintals of cereal on the occasion of bibahapanchami at Rangabhumi ground in Janakpurdham. Covering an expansive 11,000 square feet, the giant statue has garnered attention for its sheer size and the dedication involved in its creation.

The organizing team of bibahapanchami has extended invitations to several people to witness the awe-inspiring colossus prepared at Rangabhumi ground. Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah of Janakpurdham sub-metropolis informed the public that the cereals used in the creation of the giant Sita-Ram statue would not go to waste.

Mayor Sah revealed that a significant quantity of 102 quintals of food grains was utilized for the construction of the colossal statue, sparking discussions about the utilization of the cereals. Considering Janakpurdham’s sacred status as the abode of Goddess Sita, concerns have arisen about the appropriate handling of the food grains used in the art installation.

Mayor Sah appealed to the public to refrain from negativity and instead contribute positively to make the event a success. Meanwhile, Jitendra Masaseth, the Chair at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Janakpurdham, expressed aspirations to enlist the colossal statue as a World Heritage site.

The Sita-Ram image will be on display for a week and has been placed under the protection of municipal police and Nepal Police. Funds for the creation of the gigantic statue were generated through a joint bank account, according to Mayor Sah. He extended special thanks to artisans Shatish Gujjar and Gungun Mishra for their craftsmanship.

Local traders and businesspersons played a pivotal role in materializing the creation of the Sita-Ram statue, with plans underway to save 80 percent of the grains used in the artwork. Chairman Mahaseth highlighted the involvement of numerous people and devotees who were invited to view the monumental Sita-Ram statue, marking a significant cultural and artistic achievement in Janakpurdham.
