Chinese language training imparted to tourist police

KATHMANDU: Chinese language training has been imparted to the tourist police.

The two-month-long language training was delivered to the tourist police in collaboration with the tourist police, Immersion Mandarin Academy (IMA) and the East China University of Technology.

Handing over certificates to the participants on Wednesday, the Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Suresh Adhikari said the training would help the tourist police to communicate with Chinese tourists and fix the latter’s problems.

He highlighted the need of imparting other language training to the tourist police. Nepali Ambassador to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha said the understanding languages of neighboring countries will ease every affair at the country and people level.

Councilor of the Chinese Embassy Wangchhin, director-general of Nepal Tourism Board Gom Prasad Luitel and Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Sugandha Shrestha, among others, said the training would further incentivize tourist police to deliver their services.

Immersion Mandarin Academy (IMA) had had developed a separate curriculum for the training to the tourist police, informed Academy proprietor Pramila Tamang.
