KATHMANDU: Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the final of the third edition of the ACC Premier Cup One-Day Cricket Tournament.
The toss took place at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where both teams are competing for their second ACC Premier Cup title.
Nepal won the inaugural edition in 2023, defeating the UAE by seven wickets. The UAE claimed the championship in 2024 after overcoming hosts Oman.
The final carries added significance this year, with the winner securing a place in the Asia Cup.
Nepal have won four of their five matches in the tournament, suffering one defeat during the group and knockout stages. The UAE, meanwhile, have remained unbeaten throughout the competition and enter the final with a perfect record.
The two sides have faced each other 19 times in One-Day International cricket. Nepal lead the head-to-head record 11-8 and have won three of their last five encounters.
Their most recent meetings came in the ICC World Cup League 2 in May, when Nepal won both matches.
