ACC Premier Cup final: Nepal and UAE to clash today

KATHMANDU: Nepal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will face each other today in the final of the third edition of the ACC Premier Cup One-Day Cricket Tournament.

The final between Nepal and the UAE will begin at 7:15 am at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Both teams are seeking to win the ACC Premier Cup title for the second time. Nepal won the inaugural edition in 2023 after defeating the UAE by seven wickets. The UAE claimed the title in 2024 by defeating hosts Oman.

This year’s final carries added significance, as the winner will secure a place in the Asia Cup.

Nepal has won four and lost one of its five matches in the tournament, including the group-stage and semi-final matches. The UAE, meanwhile, has reached the final unbeaten.

Nepal and the UAE have faced each other 19 times in One-Day International cricket, with Nepal winning 11 matches and the UAE eight. Nepal has won three of their last five encounters. The two sides most recently met in the ICC World Cup League 2 in May, when Nepal won both matches.
