Govt extends term of Air Crash Probe Commission



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to extend the term of ‘Aircrash Probe Commission’ formed to probe the crash involving a Yeti Airlines aircraft by 45 days.

A cabinet meeting held on March 14 took the decision to this effect, said Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma.

The government had formed a five-member probe commission under coordination of former-Secretary, Nagendra Ghimire, to find out the truth of the Yeti airline plane crash in Pokhara on January 15.
Earlier, the Commission was given 45 days to submit its report.

Aviation experts—Deepak Prakash Bastola (retired Major General), Sunil Thapa (retired Captain) and aeronautical engineer Yekraj Jung Thapa are the members of the Commission.

Similarly, Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane is the member-secretary of the Commission.
