Nepal Airlines plane flies to Israel for Nepali rescue mission

KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines widebody A330 aircraft flew to Israel today to rescue Nepali nationals stranded in Israel.

The government sent the aircraft by completing all legal procedures for the rescue mission.

The plane departed at around 4 a.m. Thursday with Dubai as its transit to Israel.

Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud also flew for Israel in the rescue mission.

Previously, the plan was to initiate the rescue flight at 11 p.m. on Wednesday with a layover in Dubai.

It should be noted that 10 Nepali students who had been to Israel under the ‘Learn and Earn’ program were killed in the terrorist attack at Kibbutz Alumim in the southern area of Israel on October 7.

Similarly, a search operation for Bipin Joshi, the missing Nepali in the incident, is underway.

The Nepali Embassy in Israel stated that they were searching for missing Joshi in various hospitals through a student who was living with Bipin who was rescued safely after the attack.

The Nepali diplomatic mission in Israel on Wednesday had apprised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Bipin was not found during the search in various hospitals and they had sought assistance from Israel for the search.
