Shortage of health-related human resources will be fulfilled: Minister Basnet

CHITWAN: Minister for Health and Population, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, has said shortage of human resources would not be allowed in the health sector even by amending the Medical Education Act.

Inspecting the Bharatpur Hospital today, Minister Basnet mentioned that there would be a shortage of health-related human resources within five years if the Act was not amended.

He shared that activities would be carried out to produce human resources of the health sector within six months by amending the Act.

Sharing that he has raised issues related to the human resources crunch in the health sector in the cabinet meeting as well, the Health Minister added that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has directed to draw conclusions by holding discussion on this matter.

Minister Basnet shared that the Medical Education Commission has carried out some good works but there were still some problems to be sorted out.
