Buddha Air celebrates 27th anniversary, welcomes 17th ATR aircraft



KATHMANDU: Buddha Air, a leading private airlines company in the country, has entered its 27th year of its establishment from today.

The airline company that started its operation with a small 18-seater aircraft has extended its fleet to 16 aircraft including ATR 42-320 and ATR 72-500 by far, and is going to add another one this October, it was shared.

Birendra Bahadur Basnet, an executive chairperson of Buddha Air, said that the airlines company ensured that the human resources in the technical, pilot, and ground operation teams are constantly enhanced and updated in accordance with the requirements of the national and international aviation regulatory bodies.

Basnet shared that regular auditing and evaluation from national and international organizations were being carried out in the Airline to make the flight operation effective.

A modern hangar the airline company has is one of the best in South Asia and from where many national and international airline companies were availing its services, according to him.

Over the two and half decades of its service, 20 million plus national and international passengers have availed the company’s services, the company said.

At present, the airline has been conducting 17 regular flights to Pokhara from Kathmandu, 9 to Biratnagar, 10 to Bhairahawa. The Airline is also conducting flights to over half a dozen destinations on a regular basis. It is expanding its flight operation to Surkhet, Tumlingtar, and Dhangadhi, according to Buddha Air.
