KATHMANDU: Weather conditions vary across the nation today, with clear skies prevailing in the hilly areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while other parts of the country experience partly cloudy conditions.
Presently, some areas in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces are receiving light rainfall, as reported by the Weather Forecasting Division.
As the day progresses, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy nationwide.
The Division has indicated the likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in select areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, with a few isolated spots in the other provinces.
Furthermore, there is a potential for heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning in a couple of locations within the Lumbini region.
In Koshi, Madesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is also anticipated in a few places.
It is important to note that these rainfall patterns may lead to a slight rise in river water levels and pose potential hazards such as floods, landslides, and soil erosion.
These weather conditions could inconvenience daily life, agriculture, road and air transportation, and have implications for public health.
The Division has urged residents to take precautionary measures to mitigate any possible damage that may arise from these conditions.
