BAITADI: Sudurpaschim Province is facing a significant risk of dengue spread, as indicated by data from the Sudurpaschim Province Health Directorate.
Hemraj Joshi, the focal person at the Directorate, expressed growing concern over the increasing number of dengue patients on a daily basis.
In the last one month, the province reported a staggering 353 cases of dengue patients.
Joshi emphasized, “The incidence of dengue patients has seen a sharp rise in August.”
Two individuals succumbed to dengue infection in the Kanchanpur district of Sudurpaschim Province within the past two weeks.
Over the course of the past eight months, the province has documented a total of 680 cases of dengue infections.
According to the data, Kailali district has the highest number of dengue patients, while Baitadi has the lowest number of infections.
During this period, Kailali district alone witnessed 232 patients suffering from dengue.
In contrast, the previous year saw the province recording four dengue-related fatalities.

Furthermore, Achham has reported 36 cases, Doti 15, Dadeldhura 8, Baitadi 1, Darchula 6, Bajhang 6, and Bajura 28 cases, signifying the widespread reach of this infectious disease across the province.
