Law Day being marked today



KATHMANDU: The Law Day is being observed by organizing various programs today.

It is marked in commemoration of the day the “Pradhan Nyayalaya”, Supreme Court, was established in Nepal.

With the introduction of the Nepal Supreme Court Act of 2008, the Supreme Court was set up on Baisakh 26, 2009 BS.

The Supreme Court is observing the Day with special significance every year.

The Day is special to foster debate on an independent judiciary, rule of law and establishment of a modern justice system.

The Supreme Court organizes a tea reception and greetings exchange program on this occasion. The program is being held at 2:00 pm today.
