KATHMANDU: The Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office has issued a directive prohibiting road digging activities from mid-June to mid-September.

In a notice released on Thursday, the Office has officially announced the prohibition of road digging activities for water, sewage, electricity, telephone, and other purposes during the rainy season. The decision stems from the concern that such excavations cannot be promptly repaired and restored to their original condition.

“The Office emphasized that due to the expected deterioration of road conditions during the specified period, no permission will be granted for any road digging activities,” it said.

Additionally, the Office has issued a stern warning, stating that strict action will be taken in accordance with the Public Roads Act 2031 BS against anyone found involved in road digging activities during this designated period.
