NUP to refrain giving vote of confidence to CM Rawal,  Sudurpaschim govt likely to face crisis

DHANGADHI: The Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) has decided not to give a vote of confidence to Sudurpaschim Chief Minister Rajendra Rawal.

NUP chairperson Ranjita Shrestha Chowdhury informed that the meeting of the Party held in Dillibazar on Tuesday decided not to give a vote of confidence to the Sudurpaschim government of Far West Province.

Chairman Chaudhary and Sudurpaschim Parliamentary Party leader Rameshwar Chaudhary participated in the meeting held in the presence of Resham Chaudhary in Dillibazar jail.

With NUP’s decision, Chief Minister Rawal’s government, which needs at least 27 votes to get vote of confidence, will be in crisis.

Chief Minister Rawal is taking the vote of confidence in the state assembly meeting tomorrow (Wednesday).

Sudurpaschim province has 19 Nepali Congress lawmakers, 11 Maoist Center lawmakers and 10 CPN-UML lawmakers. Similarly, NUP has seven, CPN-Unified Socialist four and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) one lawmaker in the province assembly.  There is one independent lawmaker in the assembly.

UML leader Rawal was appointed Chief Minister with the support of 29 lawmakers including 11 from Maoist Center, 10 from UML, 7 from NUP and one from RPP.
