Two proposals for the name of Province 1 have been registered in the Provincial Assembly today. UML has filed a proposal to keep the name Koshi. The Nepali Congress, which was earlier supportive of the UML’s proposal, has withdrawn its support.

CPN (Unified Socialist) and Janata Samajwadi have registered a proposal to name the province as Kirat Limbuwan Sagarmatha.
