NC asks committees to recommend election candidates by September 5

KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has issued a circular to the concerned party committees to recommend candidates for the elections by September 5.

Party General Secretary Gagan Thapa has instructed the committees to recommend candidates for the House of Representatives (HoR) and the State Assembly within the stipulated timeframe.

According to the instructions issued by Thapa, the regional working committee should finalize its name by September 1.

Likewise, Thapa has instructed the district working committee to send the names coming from the regional working committee to the center by September 3, and the names coming from the district by September 5.

Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress has decided not to repeat the names which were included in the list of proportional representation in the previous election for the November 20 election.

The Nepali Congress has also asked all concerned to consider inclusive principles while recommending candidates.

While recommending the names of the candidates for the first-past-the-post, the party has asked to send a maximum of three candidates for one post, and for the proportional representation, a maximum of two candidates, including one woman.
