KATHMANDU: On the second trading day of the week (Monday), the share market index Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by 0.69 percent.
The Nepali share market, which had declined by double digits for the last three consecutive trading days, rose by 17.99 points on Monday and closed at 2634.54 points.
Along with NEPSE index, all sub-indices except hotel and tourism and others have increased. Due to the improvement in NEPSE, the transaction amount has also increased as compared to Sunday. Today, the total market turnover was Rs 2.59 billion.
A maximum of Rs 209.5 million shares of Nepal Telecom Company have been traded in the market today. Similarly, Arun Valley Hydropower had a turnover of Rs 90 million while Jeevan Bikas Microfinance had a turnover of Rs 90 million.
Of the 192 companies traded in the market today, 156 scrips saw an increase and 31 registered losses. The share value of only five company remained stable.
Emerging Nepal’s share price rose by 7.67 percent and Mountain Hydro Nepal rose by 6.74 percent.
Meanwhile, the share price of Nepal Telecom Company has been continuously declining since the announcement of dividend. The company declared a 40 per cent dividend with a 20 percent bonus share. Nepal Telecom’s share price fell 2.97 percent on Monday.
