Foreign aid commitment declines by 32.7 percent



KATHMANDU: Foreign aid commitment in the first eight months of the current Fiscal Year 2021/22 has decreased by 32.7 percent as compared to last year.

According to the Ministry of Finance, Nepal has received a total of Rs. 126.07 billion in financial assistance in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.

In the corresponding period of the previous Fiscal Year 2020/21, Nepal had received foreign aid commitment of Rs. 187.43 billion. Out of the foreign aid commitment received in the current Fiscal Year, grant assistance is Rs. 9.46 billion and loan assistance is Rs. 116 billion.

The share of grants and loans in foreign aid commitment is 7.5 percent and 92.5 percent respectively.

Out of the total foreign aid commitments, IMF, Asian Development Bank and World Bank accounted for 37 percent, 21.8 percent and 16.6 percent respectively.
