Health desk to check up only to the COVID-19 symptom patients and those sans vaccination

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to change the prevalent health-check up system at the Health Desk established at the border checkpoints entering Nepal and check only the people with COVID-19 symptoms and those not vaccinated yet.

However, the people vaccinated against the coronavirus yet showing the symptoms will still be provided the COVID-19 test service.

According to Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari, only those who have not been fully vaccinated with COVID-19 and have symptoms similar to COVID infection will be examined at the health desks.

The Ministry of Health recommends that people who have not received full vaccination or have not had a 72-hour PCR report negative, or who have symptoms similar to COVID-19, even if the full vaccine or PCR report is negative, should be tested for COVID-19.

Similarly,  the un-vaccinated children under 5  will also be tested provided they show any COVID-19 related symptoms.
