Constitution unites all Nepalis: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has asserted that the Constitution of Nepal had contributed to building a Nepali society that is diverse ethnically, linguistically, religiously, culturally and geographically thereby unifying all the Nepalis.

In a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 8th Constitution Day and National Day here today, Prime Minister Deuba further said that the national charter, as per the people’s aspirations, had put an end to discrimination, prejudices, oppression and social anomalies prevailing in the Nepali society in the past.

Extending best wishes to all Nepalis on the occasion, Deuba has extended tributes and high regards to all known and unknown martyrs scarifying their lives while contributing to democratic movements in the country over a different periods of time.

PM Deuba, also President of the ruling Nepali Congress, said that the constitution promulgated on September 20, 2015, under the leadership of the Nepali Congress and in full support and contribution of the Nepali people was a historic and important achievement for the democratic movements spearheaded over various period of time.

Taking into thought those bearing physical, economic and psychological loss to earn this achievement, the Head of the Government said “Nepali Congress is ever committed and active to further consolidate federal democratic republic system and to safeguard the constitution as well as to comply it.

Furthermore, he said that the present government had successfully conducted election in local level this year and expressed his confidence that the upcoming November 20 House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly election would establish everyone’s rights and constitutionally guarantee universal human rights and democratic values.

The PM was hopeful to receive all Nepalis’ support and endorsement to work towards development and prosperity for the country.

“The government is committed towards implementing the constitution’s essence and sentiments ensuring that the public would experience in their lives.”
