Death toll from Baglung landslides reaches 13



BAGLUNG: The death toll from landslides triggered by incessant rainfall in Baglung between September 25 and 27 has risen to 13 following the recovery of a woman’s body on Wednesday.

The body of 53-year-old Punasara BK, a resident of Santar in Tamankhola Rural Municipality-4, was recovered from landslide debris. She had been missing since a landslide struck the area on September 27.

District Police Office Chief Superintendent of Police Phanindra Prasai confirmed the recovery.

Of the 13 people killed in the landslides, five were from Nisikhola Rural Municipality, five from Tamankhola Rural Municipality and three from Tarakhola Rural Municipality. All of the victims were buried when landslides struck their homes.
