Leader Jhankri feels relieved at NC rebel’s candidacy withdrawal

GULMI: With Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Damodar Bhusal’s withdrawal of candidacy from Gulmi-2, coalition leader from CPN-Unified Socialist leader Ram Kumari Jhankri has taken a breath of relief.

Dr. Bhusal, who stood against the Unified Socialist Party Secretary Jhankri for the member of the House of Representatives’ election to be held on November 20, has withdrawn his candidacy at the NC request.

Bhusal announced the withdrawal of candidacy through a press conference on Monday.

Bhusal, former regional president of Congress Gulmi, was a member of the Lumbini State Planning Commission.

Bhusal had said that he was running as an independent candidate because the party structure would be destroyed if other parties were nominated through coalition.

CPN-UML Secretary Gokarna Bist is a candidate from UML-Rastriya Prajatantra Party alliance in this constituency.

NC has asked its rebel leaders to withdraw their candidacy by October 21.

With the withdrawal of Bhusal’s rebel candidature, leader Jhankri’s confidence has gone up further.
