Chronic patients, pregnant women to be given blood for free



JHAPA: The Nepal Red Cross Society Damak Sub-Chapter has announced to provide blood for free to chronic patients.

Damak Municipality and Nepal Red Cross Society Damak Sub-Chapter have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide blood to pregnant women, infants and chronic patients for free.

President of Nepal Red Cross Society Damak Sub-Chapter Prakash Budhathoki said the MoU has been signed to this end.

However, the service seekers should submit evidence of their permanent residence of Damak Municipality.

Prior to this, the Nepal Red Cross Society used to charge Rs 950 for lab tests. Deputy Mayor of Damak Municipality Regina Bhattarai, Chief Administrative Officer Shashi Rai, Budhathoki and others were present during the MoU signing ceremony.

The Nepal Red Cross Society Damak Sub-Chapter has been running blood transfusion service and treatment for snakebites.
