No heavy vehicles on Aanbukhaireni-Muglin section

DAMAULI: Heavy vehicles will not be able to ply the Aanbukhaireni-Muglin section of the Prithvi Highway for a few days. The operation of heavy vehicles has been stopped as the road near Aabukhaireni rural municipality-4 has been washed away after heavy rainfall.

One-way traffic has been opened at the damaged section of the road and only small and light vehicles are allowed at the moment, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Yubaraj Khadka. He said that only microbus, small cars and motorcycles are allowed to pass through the section of the road.

The Road Division Office has been working to repair the damaged section of the road since Friday.

Meanwhile, the district administration office has completely closed the section of the road from 7 pm to 6 am since Friday until further notice. Assistant Chief District Officer Kashiram Gaihre said that the traffic was completely stopped due to the increased risk of traveling after dark.

It may be noted that two people were killed when a car and a motorcycle fell along with that section of the road. The deceased have been identified as Hem Bahadur Bhujel, 35, of Hetauda and Keshav Ghimire, 33, of Aabukhaireni-2, Gorkha, according to the District Police Office, Tanahu.
