Kathmandu District Court grants five more days remand against comedian Apurva



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu District Court has added five-day remand against comedian Apurva Kshitiz Singh accused of hurting the sentiments of the Newa Community in Kathmandu.

Singh has been in police custody since August 28.

Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Bharat Bahadur Bohora informed that the investigation took a long time as there had been four cases against him.

He said that Singh’s investigation report will be sent to the district attorney’s office on Thursday.

Earlier, Singh’s family and Newa community activists had discussed and agreed to write an apology letter and proceed with the process of releasing him.

Apurva deleted the video immediately after the protests started.

People have taken to social media to raise voice against the comedian’s arrest.
