KATHMANDU: A total of 114 people have been airlifted to safety following the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning.
According to the Nepal Police, the Nepali Army rescued 85 people through multiple flights, while private helicopter companies evacuated another 29.
The Nepali Army rescued 60 people from Timure to Dhunche, 13 from Timure to Trishuli, five from Mailung, four from Betravati and three from Trishuli to Kathmandu.
Among private operators, Kailash Helicopter evacuated five people from Rasuwa to Teaching Hospital, while Simrik Helicopter rescued three people from Rasuwa.
Annapurna Helicopter transported four people from Rasuwa to Teaching Hospital.
Similarly, Prabhu Helicopter evacuated five people from Rasuwa to Teaching Hospital, Simrik two, Fishtail five, Everest two, and Prabhu Helicopter transported three people from Rasuwa to Bir Hospital.
The air rescue operations are continuing as authorities work to evacuate people affected by the sudden and destructive flooding in the Bhotekoshi River.
