Rasuwa flood death toll reaches 55



KATHMANDU: The death toll from the devastating Bhotekoshi floods in Rasuwa has reached 55, according to the Bagmati Province Police Office in Hetauda.

The 55 bodies were recovered from different locations during ongoing search and rescue operations following the floods.

According to police, the deceased include 31 men and 22 women. The identities of two other victims have yet to be established.

Police said one male body was recovered in Rasuwa, while six men and five women were found dead in Nuwakot.

In Dhading, the bodies of five men and 11 women were recovered. Chitwan recorded 16 deaths, including 13 men and five women, according to police. Nine bodies were recovered in Gorkha, including those of six men and one woman, while two victims remain unidentified.

Meanwhile, 93 people injured in the floods have been rescued. Of them, 43 were rescued in Rasuwa, 47 in Nuwakot and three in Dhading.

According to police, the injured have been taken to various hospitals and health facilities for treatment.

Search and rescue operations remain underway in the flood-affected districts, with security agencies continuing efforts to locate missing people and assist those stranded by the disaster.
