Ambassador-designate Tamang stresses promoting economic diplomacy



KATHMANDU: Dan Bahadur Tamang, Ambassador-designate in South Africa, said the Embassy and Nepali diasporas working and living in South Africa including other accredited African countries are complementary to each other.

He urged Nepali communities to abide by the domestic laws of host states and make their stay very productive in all respects.

The Embassy of Nepal in Pretoria, South Africa organized an interaction program to exchange Dashain greetings, and discuss ways to further strengthen the partnership between the Embassy and Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) as well as the Nepali diaspora based in South Africa.

Ambassador Tamang extended with profound happiness greetings and best wishes to all Nepalis at home and abroad for their good health, happiness and prosperity on the joyous occasion of Dashain.

The Ambassador highlighted the rationale of and priority accorded to economic diplomacy by the Government of Nepal and Nepali mission in the fields of export trade, tourism, FDI, development cooperation, and gainful foreign employment.

There is a lot of untapped opportunities here in these areas, he said, adding the both the Embassy and Nepali diasporas should continue to work together to this end.

He also called on Nepali communities to encourage their foreign friends and acquaintances to visit Nepal by disseminating information about the country as a peaceful, secure, and naturally panoramic destination for tourism of all sorts.
