NEW DELHI: A global researcher, who works with The Intel Lab and is a satellite imagery expert on Chinese military development, tweeted out satellite images that show the presence of Chinese villages in Bhutan, according to a report.
These new villages, supposedly built between May 2020 and November 2021, are spread through nearly 100 square km of area inside the Bhutanese territory, National Herald has reported.
According to the report, this “disputed land lies near the Doklam plateau where India and China had a faceoff in 2017” when China started road construction activity in that region.
It is, however, still not clear if these new villages happen to be a part of some land negotiation between Bhutan and China.
News18 reported that China has built four dual villages in the region.
