RPP Chair Thapa urges leadership aspirant Lingden to put on hold his ambition for time being



KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa has urged the party’s leadership aspirant Rajendra Lingden to put on hold his ambition for the next four years.

RPP General Secretary Lingden announced his candidacy for RPP chair last week.

While announcing his candidacy for re-election as RPP chair, in Kathmandu, Monday, Chair Thapa said he would handover the leadership after uplifting the party in the next four years.

Saying that he was elated by youths aspiration of leading the party, Thapa said, “The party is in bad shape currently but it cannot get worse than this. I urge youths to put on hold their aspiration for time being as I am ready to handover leadership after lifting the party a bit.”

Thapa also urged RPP leader Dhawal Shumsher Rana to come to an agreement. “Let’s discuss and reach an agreement,” he said. Rana has backed Lingden’s candidacy for the post of RPP chair.
