KATHMANDU: Nepal has been asked to field first after losing the toss against Saudi Arabia in the third edition of the ACC Premier Cup One-Day Cricket Tournament in Malaysia.
The match is being played at Bayuemas Cricket Oval, where Nepal will look to continue its winning run after securing victories over Bahrain and Malaysia.
Nepal currently leads Group A with four points from two matches. A victory against Saudi Arabia would strengthen Nepal’s position and secure its place in the semi-finals with one group-stage match still remaining.
Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, is at the bottom of the group with two points from three matches. Nepal and Saudi Arabia have faced each other twice in ODIs, with Nepal winning once. Their most recent meeting, in 2012, ended in a nine-wicket victory for Nepal.
A previous fixture between the two sides in the ongoing tournament was abandoned due to rain.
Nepal has made one change to its playing XI for today’s match, with fast bowler Hemant Dhami rested and spinner Sher Malla brought into the side. Sandeep Lamichhane continues to lead the Nepali team.
