Closed session of UML’s general convention underway

CHITWAN: The closed session of the CPN-UML’s 10th general convention has finally begun late night after the general convention presidium’s meeting concluded late Sunday evening.

The closed session of the party scheduled for 10 am Sunday began after a delay of over 12 hours as the party’s Chair KP Sharma Oli was trying hard to elect the new leadership of the party through consensus.

Earlier, the presidium’s meeting began after Chair Oli finalized the list of 301 central members, including 19 office bearers. The presidium discussed the proposed list of new leadership.

Leaders said that the closed-door session of the 10th General Convention of the UML was likely to announce the name of the party’s office-bearers and central committee members.
