National consensus necessary for the country: Rajendra Lingden

NAWALPARASI: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Rajendra Prasad Lingden has said that national consensus is necessary in the interest of the country.

Addressing the district convention of RPP Nawalparasi in West Nawalparasi on Saturday, Lingden stressed the need for political parties to reach a national consensus for the sake of the country.

He said political parties should rise above a mindset of exclusion and choose the path of cooperation and consensus at a time when the country is going through a complex and unusual situation.

Meanwhile, four candidates had filed nominations for the post of district chair at the RPP Nawalparasi district convention. After one candidate withdrew his candidacy, the contest will now be between three candidates.
