Govt allocates 163 billion to road and transportation sector, 100 electric buses to be operated in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs 163 billion in the field of road and transportation transport in the coming fiscal year.

The government has stated that special emphasis has been given to the road sector in the budget in the coming Fiscal Year 2021/22.

It is mentioned in the budget that the east-west highway will be widened and 300 bridges will be constructed.

Rs. 11.10 billion will be allocated for the construction of the bridge. It is mentioned that incomplete sections of Madan Bhandari Highway, Postal Highway, and Mid-Hill Highway will be completed.

The tunnel route has been emphasized in the budget. Nine billion rupees have been allocated for the tunnel route from Nagdhunga to Naubise. The budget has been allocated for the tunnel route in Siddhababa.

Similarly, a budget has been allocated for the construction of the tunnel in the Tinkune-Jadibuti section of Kathmandu.

The construction of tunnels will be studied in different places. It is mentioned in the budget that embossed numbers will be distributed from all the provinces.

It is mentioned that at least 100 electric buses will be operated in Kathmandu through public transport.
