Newly appointed ministers take oath in Pradesh 1

KATHMANDU: The newly appointed ministers and state ministers of Pradesh 1 have taken oath of office and secrecy on Friday.

Province Chief Somnath Adhikari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers  amidst a special ceremony in Biratnagar today.

Tanka Angbuhang who recently joined CPN-UML from CPN (Maoist Center) has been sworn-in as the Minister for Economic Affairs and Ushakala Rai as the Minister for Social Development.

Similarly, Ambir Babu Gurung and Ram Bahadur Rana have taken oath of office and secrecy as the Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure Development and the Minister of Sate for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, respectively.

Likewise, Kala Ghale took the oath of office and secrecy as the Minister of State for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives while Raj Kumar Ojha as the Minister of State for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment.

Earlier, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and Madhav Nepal group had proposed Bhim Acharya as the CM of Province 1, filing a no-confidence again CM Rai.

Rai has garnered a majority following the Supreme Court’s verdict that restored erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) scrapping their unification as Nepal Communist Party.
