Kanchanpur steps up safety measures to curb COVID-19



KANCHANPUR: District Administration Office (DAO), Kanchanpur has issued a nine-point health safety order in view of the possible spread of the COVID-19 in the district.

With the decision to clamp the order, mass meetings, rallies, celebrations, fair and festivals have been banned in the district to control the possible spread of the COVID-19.

Chief District Officer (CDO) Ram Kumar Mahato has issued the order effective from Tuesday midnight as per the recommendation of the respective District Security Committee and District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (DCCMC).

Issuing a notice, the DAO, Kanchanpur has urged the locals to strictly abide by health safety measures including the use of masks and sanitizers, adhering to social distancing rules.

According to the rules, shops, industries factories and transportation are allowed to operate from 4 am to 10 pm by adhering to health safety measures determined by the government.

Kanchanpur-based Gaddachauki and Gauriphanta checkpoints bordering India will remain operational from 6 am to 8 pm, with health desks keeping records of travelers and screening their health.   Beside these two checkpoints the movement of people through other places will be restricted.

The DAO has warned that it will take stringent actions against those who disobey the order in line with the Infectious Disease Act, 1964.
