KATHMANDU: Nursing colleges that do not have their own buildings will not be allowed to admit students from the new academic session.

A nursing college must have its own building with at least 100 beds as per the provision laid down in the Medical Education Act, 2075.

With this provision, around 100 nursing colleges are going to be shut down, thereby depriving over 3,600 nursing students of their study.

The demand of nurses is ever increasing in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
