KATHMANDU: The advocates representing writ petitioners on the case against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) are responding to the questions raised by those of defendants on Sunday.

Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR has already told the Constitutional Bench on Thursday that he will allow a maximum of five advocates of petitioners to speak in the reply debate.

Pleading on behalf of the Prime Minister and the Speaker had concluded on Thursday.

Senior advocates Raman Shrestha, Shambhu Thapa and others have prepared for the response debate on behalf of the writ filed by Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chief Whip Dev Gurung.

The pleading on behalf of the writ petitioners is expected to conclude today and it will be followed by a pleading by the amicus curiae.

The amicus curiae consist of Badri Bahadur Karki, Satish Krishna Kharel, Bijaya Kant Mainali, Purna Man Shakya and Geeta Pathak.

The hearing is taking place at the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana and including Justices Bishwombhar Prasad Shrestha, Anil Kumar Sinha, Sapana Malla, and Tej Bahadur KC.
