Trade unions postpone agitation following talks with Minister Ale

KATHMANDU: Three trade unions that had been upping the ante against the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC)’s proposal to change its institutional structure have postponed their protest from Monday.

The trade unions close to Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN-UML, that had been staging protests for the last 104 days, ended their agitation following talks with Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale yesterday.

The trade unions demanded that the proposal floated by the NAC to change institutional structure be withdrawn and that General Manager Dim Prasad Paudel be terminated during the talks with Minister Ale.

Minister Ale said that he would address these demands within 15 days.
