Kathmandu Valley’s prohibitory order likely to be strict from August 11



KATHMANDU: After the surge of COVID-19 cases in the Kathmandu Valley, authorities have started discussions on the modality of the prohibitory order.

Kathmandu Chief District Officer (CDO) Kali Prasad Parajuli said that informal discussions were underway on whether to extend the prohibitory order after August 11 and to impose the strict rules.

CDOs of three districts in the Valley are set to discuss on the modality of prohibitory order on Tuesday.

The order is coming to an end on August 11 at midnight.

Chief District Officer Parajuli said that no decision has been taken yet on the areas to be tightened.

He said that after tomorrow’s discussion, it will be decided to impose strict rules on some areas or leave it as it is now.
