Nagarik App Directive to make govt service effective

KATHMANDU: The government has introduced the Nagarik App (Operation and Management) Directive, 2078 to make the government services effective.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology shared that the directive has been introduced to ensure government service and information to the people in a prompt, convenient, economical way by maintaining interconnectivity among electronic information systems of public bodies.

The Office of the Prime Minister and MoCIT are given the responsibility to operate the App. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had launched the full version of the Nagarik App on May 2, while its Beta version was released earlier on January 15.

The government further aims to achieve transparency and free the country from corruption. With the use of Nagarik App, the services from government ministries, departments, court, constitutional bodies, commission and secretariat, province government and its subordinates, local level, universities, college and schools, institutions, broad, agency, corporation, company, commissions and missions.

In order to strengthen IT, data centers would be established in each province, the MOCIT unveiled the plan.
One can open a bank account via the Nagarik App.

Currently, a bank account can be opened at Nepal Bank and Siddhartha Bank. The App stores the users’ citizenship, passport, and voter ID card. With this, the people can access their information at Citizen Investment Trust, Employee Provident Fund, and Social Security Fund.

Moreover, renewal of vehicles, tax payment, online viewing of one’s land ownership certificates, and others are its features.
