Islamic Sangh condemns attempt to discredit organization



KATHMANDU: The Islamic Sangh Nepal has refuted reports of its involvement in any illegal or terrorist activities.

In a press release issued today, the Association objected to the news that the name of the organization has been included by some media and said that the organization has remained active in social work.

It claimed that the news published against them in some media was misleading.

The Association claimed that some Indian media were trying to discredit the organization.

It said its serious attention has been drawn saying that allegations as baseless and fabricated against them citing its links with the IHH.

The Association has expressed regret over the fact that some Nepali media outlets have published similar reports without any investigation and evidence.

“This is a mere propaganda, irresponsible, highly reprehensible and offensive act. It is not justifiable to accuse a reputed organization of propaganda without investigation, “said Khurshid Alam, President of the Association.”

“This is against the code of conduct and is yellow journalism. We strongly condemn it”, the statement reads.

The Sangh has also demanded an apology for such baseless and misleading news against them adding that the organization will be forced to take legal action against them.

The organization has been conducting its programs transparently with the support and cooperation of local and foreign organizations with the approval of the Social Welfare Council, it added.

He has also claimed that he has never cooperated with suspicious or banned organizations. The Islamic Association of Nepal is cooperating with the global organization IHH, which is headquartered in Turkey.

The organization has been providing humanitarian services in 123 countries for the past 20 years.
