Case filed against 4 individuals including NC lawmaker Lama

KATHMANDU: District Forest Office, Makwanpur has filed a case against four individuals including Nepali Congress lawmaker Bahadur Singh Lama on the charge of extracting sand and stones.

The Division Forest Office, Makwanpur had arrested excavator driver Naresh Ram Mahara and the excavator while extracting sand and stones from Kaliban community forest in Bakaiya-7 in the eastern part of Makwanpur on December 29 last year.

Earlier, the Division Forest Office, Makwanpur had issued an arrest warrant against them on the charge of extracting sand and stones.

A team led by DFO Chief Imnath Paudel had arrested Hari Lal Syangtan, chairman of Kaliban Community Forest Users Committee, in the course of investigation.

With the case filed at the district court, Syangtan and Mahara have been released on bail.
