Revenue collection exceeds Rs 4.93 billion



BHADRAPUR: The Internal Revenue Office, Jhapa has collected Rs 4.93 billion in revenue during the last fiscal year.

The office had set a revenue collection target of Rs 6.68 billion. It achieved 81.31 percent of the target. According to Information Officer Dilliram Chaulagain, the total collection included Rs 2.41 billion from income tax, Rs 1.66 billion from value added tax (VAT), and Rs 670.89 million from excise duty.

Similarly, revenue collected under rent income tax amounted to Rs 56.67 million, interest tax to Rs 93.68 million, and other headings to Rs 26.32 million, the office said. The office’s jurisdiction covers the districts of Ilam, Panchthar, and Taplejung.
