Nineteenth Library Day to be celebrated on August 31

KATHMANDU: The 19th Library Day will be observed across the country on August 31 with programs being organized at national, provincial, and local levels.

The main organizing committee for the celebration has been formed under the leadership of Chudamani Paudel, Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports.

This year’s theme, “Children, youth, and the elderly: Libraries are everyone’s destination,” highlights the role of libraries as inclusive and accessible spaces for people of all age groups.

To manage the event, four thematic committees have been constituted to oversee areas such as honors and awards, publications, publicity, and social activities.

The celebration will involve educational institutions and library-related organizations throughout the country. Efforts are also being made to coordinate with the Offices of the Chief Ministers and Councils of Ministers in all seven provinces to ensure wider public participation and community engagement in the observance.
